DIRECTV vs. DISH

Great customer service with their local reps. Just recently had Dish installed and installer was extremely pleasant and professional.

I just got dish today after have directtv for 2 years. Direct was just WAY to much money. My bill was $95.00 a month and their packages under mine were not desireable. I called and asked for a custom package and they refused. I switched and all of a sudden they called 10 times in one day offering me deals. In the end, dish has better lower grade packages than directtv, but I will say if you want the YES network,a great picture, with $100.00 a month to blow, than go with direct tv. If you want a good solid picture with a good package at a reasonable price, go with dish.

I just got dish network after having directv and i should have made the switch a long time ago. I have HD DVR in my livingroom and the equipment is so much faster. directv was slow on response time with the dvr. even the programming guide on poping up and flipping through it easy so much fast. directv had such a drag in time. it would sometimes take at 30 sec and a few times a min for the guide to load. I just got fed up with directv. So i think if your thinking of changing and staying with satellite then dish would be a great choice.

I like the programming of Dish Network. Unfortunately their hardware is second rate. The 622 is garbage. I’ve been through 3 of them in the last year. I asked to upgrade to the 722. They said I could, but they couldn’t promise I would get a 722 and might still get a 622. Thank goodness it would only cost a $100. (I actually asked the guy if he was kidding me). Why on earth would things cost more as an existing customer with no contract left. I’ll leave before I’ll pay. Doesn’t seem to make any sense. I suppose if I leave and come back, their statistics of new customers might look better??

dish net the best out there our csr are well trained. and for everyone out there if you are having tech issues the service plan is what you need to request at this time if this the first time tht you are addind the services plan and you need a tech you only need to pay the 6 dollars as a monthly fee and your first tech visit is free, and the reason that there is a fee think about it as if you are leasing a automotive you would be responsibel for any up keep of the vehicule becuase you are leasing it it is the same with our recivers dish is were to be when it comes to sat tv, this is gus ill be back to inform of any promos availabel to the general ppublic

Having been a customer of both companies (Dish Network & DirectTv) I have found I keep returning to Dish Network. Dish is consistent with their prices and upfront about all of their promotions.

DirectTv will have a cheaper promotion, but with all of the hidden fees and commitments it always turns out to be a much more costly choice in the long run. Signal loss also seemed to plague me as a customer when I was DirectTv and I can’t say the same for Dish… with the four years of service I have enjoyed at Dish Network, I can only recall one storm that managed to cause signal loss.

Prices, service, polite service (on the phone and during the install) I have to say it’s not hard to stay loyal to Dish Network.

So, when we bought Dish Network, they said that the satellite would only go out during REALLY bad storms, or if it was completely burried in snow. Well, everytime there is a very small storm it will go out and won’t go back on until the storm passes. This is both annoying and dangerous. What would happen if there was a tornado? The only way to find out is on the TV or computer, which cannot be accessed from in the basement, we only have a TV down there, and it won’t work if there is any type of a storm. Save yourself the annoyance and DON’T get Dish Network

I switched over when a salesman came by, but I don’t like that I can’t watch a show while recording like I could with dishnet. I will trade back so I can watch live tv AND record at the same time.
