Overall the value was great. My first experience with a DVR was with Dish Network and now I can’t live without one. There were actually features on Dish’s DVR that I liked better than a TiVo I later owned.
I eventually switched to DIRECTV because I started getting signal problems and support was less than helpful.
From reading both Direct and Dish Network a light comes on that it more about the customer service and technician installation that anything else. I must say the Dish Network customer service that we have seen over 10 years, which with have had both services, Dish Network is hands down best service we have received. In saying that I am sure others have had completely different experince. It is all about the person you have contact with that either meets your expectation or not. I think both companies needs to listen more to their customers and provide better training of all staff. Quality of its’ management team is critical to their success. Wonder if anyone is listening or is it all about numbers. When I have contact with either I could care less if I am just another person millions of customers. I want to be treated as I am the only customer they have. Wonder if this would make a differnce.
I was installed with Dish Network on March 6th and this service is AWESOME! Love the picture and chanels that Dish Network offers. My bill is only 80.98 with all chnnels and you can’t beat the price if you look at DirTV or cable. Also, with Dish Network you go out and buy a single hard drive for a computer pay 40 dollars, than hook it up to the HD reciver and you have a HD DVR without the extra fees. I have been with DirTV before and each time it rains or snows you lose single and than DirTV people are JERKS so you can’t get help. Dish Network is A+++. Also, FYI DirTV is so dirty that it is trying to sue Dish Network eventhough DirTV is an F according BBB. Lastly, I dare anyone that owns DirTV call and ask how many times they have been sold? They won’t tell you that this company has been sold five times or more. Just look at DirTV’s programing and than look at Dish Network, the choice is clear Dish Network wins!!
I have been with Dish for 15 years. After 2 years of trouble and not being able to get Dish to solve them I am switching to Direct. Two years ago I upgraded to their DVr. They came and took 2 receivers which were mine that I had paid for. When I called to get them back they told me I should not have let them take them. I told them I was at work and we had a sitter at the house who did not know they took them. These receivers cost me $200 each. Dish told me they would give me a $10 credit. This month they raised my bill $10 for the same programing I had last year, up to $120 a month. They also keep billing me $5 a month for not having a phone line installed which I do. After they ran test and found I have the phone line in they said they would drop the $5, they did not and I called every month for 5 months and it never comes off. Today I saw they offer a new customer the same package I have for $75 a month and I pay $120. I called and told them because of all my troubles I want the same $75 a month or I am going to Direct. They told me they would give me HBO for free for 3 months but that was all they could do. I told them Direct was offerring me the same package for $79 a month and I was switching. All Dish said was would you like us to cancel your service tonight. Can you believe it. They would rather lose a 15 year old customer and make no money instead of keeping a customer and making $75 a month. GOODBYE DISH!!!!
Insider info on Dir TV the reason for this company being so bad, is the fact that it has been sold five more times. Dish network the same people still own the company. According the BBB Dir TV is an F company and now trying to sue Dish network as well. Facts are plain to see here folks, Dir TV may claim they are the best, but truth is Dir TV can’t match Dish Networks pricing or service and that is a fact. Like or not Dish Network is A+++! Dir TV I have owned once and when the weather was bad the single was gone, trying to talk to Dir TV they treat you like crap over the phone. Also, if you make changes they will start your contract over. Look folks Dish Network has America has Everything for 84.00 The best Dir TV has is top 250 for 169 the lowest Dir TV package doesn’t give the channels like Dish Network’s does. Bottom line if you are having problems ask to talk to a supervisor they will get the problem solved for you. Sorry, to ramble here but please go to Dish Network site and look the options they have. Simple solo HD reviver buy a hard 50gb to 500gb at a store, call Dish Network fee 40 dollars one time and you have a HD DVR without paying extra cost. Dir TV can’t match it. Dir TV claims they have over 200 HD channels that is a flat out a lie, I have done research the most HD channel is 150 at best.
Alright, I have read most of all views on here, but the thing that hasn’t been compared yet is Receivers for DirTV and Dishnetwork. Dishnetwork Single HD Receivers you can buy a hard drive and pay one time fee of 40 and have a DVR without paying the extra fee. With DirTV forget about it. Dishnetwork has better technology than DirTv on when bad weather comes you don’t lose single, unlike DirTV. Guys, if you think I am blowing smoke than go to this webpage www.dishnettwork.com and see the facts for yourself. Sorry, DirTV no matter how many HD channels you can’t beat Dishnetwork in service, quality, pricing or technology. I am going to be installed on March 6th, and I can’t wait. Custumer service has been AWESOME to deal with! Dishnetwork is A++++ not DirTV.
I am sorry but to those who say Dish network isn’t good, take a look at that HD and DVR’s Tech that they offer. After comparing the two Dish network wins. Dir TV doesn’t off a plan that can come close to Dish Network with America everything plan for 84 dollars a month, this package includes all movie channels try to get this through Dir Tv and you will not find it. Dish Network’s DVR are far more advanced than Dir Tv’s are. I dare anyone to get all the channels for 84 plus Dish Network is taking the price down to 47 dollars for the first year! I am going to with Dish Network because frankily Dir Tv doesn’t offer enough for me. Oh, and Dish Network I get even with bad credit, Dir TV you can’t.. Sorry, Dish Network is AWESOME!! I will be a Dish Network owner soon.
ha just realized gave direct a 5-star oh well sure they deserve it as well heres 5 for dish so i dont get fired ha!!!!!!
I sell Dish Network and i just want to say that we are the nations lowest all digital price. any time you do a package change, even if you are adding a tv, a movie channel with direct they will restart your contract. with dish they will not.!! yes you may pay for your locals, so what, that only makes you have that choice unlike direct if you get your locals or not it is included in your package price. so customers who can not get their locals still pay for them with direct. they just start your package out with them included, regardless. we give you that choice. you get the 2nd tv free with us, not with direct! we strive to keep our customers happy and we are not the one with a F from the bbb. SO DIRECT TV customers dont do any changes to your package or you will never get out of that contract. with us a one time charge to downgrade. no charge to upgrade! which one sounds better!! we are upfront and honest with our customers, and that is what we strive for!! keeping our customers happy and being honest, i would never work for direct!! trust me no company can be perfect, but we do strive to be the best!! Dish customers enjoy!!! Thank you for choosing the best!!
Overall a good experience, I liked the menu, it was intuitive. Never had any interuptions with service.
